And finally, Ulan had the courage to reunite with the camera. Not too many people know that she takes photos, too. In fact, she was already deep in to this picture-taking thing back when all wanted to do was ride retro scooters and play the djembe and read a bit of poetry and drink beer. Funny that the first camera I bought was actually for her—how I found my way to using it was another story.
Heniwei...

And yeah, I honestly believe that my wife's photos are better than mine. Way better.

25 rode the Retro Scooter!:
I believe photography is all about fun, creativity and pleasure...it is not about who takes better pictures which is very subjective.
By the way, lovely pictures! Cute little girl !
Excellent photos. Powerful lens you have. And I love the post-processing! I agree with Sidney's comment.
i miss going there. now with a new lens for street photography... i might just return there.
ang ganda naman ng pangalan ng pamilya mo pre, likha, ulan, retro.
ayows!
Subjective it is, Sydney. :)
I've been waiting for the day my wife would take photos again. We sold and lost cameras and she's never even picked them up. It's hard being objective when the one taking pictures is my lovely wife. :)
Btw, Likha's a boy. :)
Dennis,
It's a cheap 50mm I bought from a buddy. I didn't really do much with the PP except convert the photos to b&w. :) Hoping to see you and Sydney one of these days in a shoot.
Dong Ho,
A lens for street photography. Hmmm... The Chinese New Year's coming up. Planning to go there. Balita ko masaya sya. :)
Christian,
Hehe! Sana nga Retro na lang pangalan ko. :)
isn't it fun that both of you are into photography?
the 3rd photo taken by your wife is gorgeous. and i like the 1st photo of yours.
keep clickin and shootin
Very nice takes ... you should tell the wife to take more photos ... you all make good subjects.
I love your take on the wife doing the yoga pose though. It did not look contrite
Totomai,
What's funny really is that I waited for years for this. Seriously.
When the wife and I were just dating, she told me that she took photos in college. And that she had a film cam. Back then, it was just one of those things you'd tell a boyfriend on a lazy weekend. But I kinda had the feeling that she's been meaning to get back to photography, and so I got her a camera as soon as we got married. But digital technology didn't appeal to her much. She kinda stopped me from getting a film cam because she thought it's kinda expensive to get the prints. Well, she didn't know about Digiprint. :)
I'm just glad she's taking photos again. It sure doesn't look like she's ever stopped anyway.
Haba ng reply ko.
Kay,
Thanks. I think she's gonna take more photos. This morning--and I mean 6 am--she asked me about her camera and we did a 5 minute tutorial before she left for work. That's a start.
Oh that wasn't really a yoga pose. She does these crazy antics whenever I point the camera at her.
like the first photo =)
Thanks, Mek.
I like this park. Saan ito?
Hi Jack,
Sa Sunken Garden sa UP Diliman. :)
beautiful photos, beautiful family, beautiful place. (i run there every weekend).
I used to run here after driving the wife to her office. But then I realized there are far too many people walking/running/biking/frolicking here recently. The quiet roads in the neighborhood are just fine. :)
both of you take great photos. next thing you know, likha will be following in your footsteps. :)
grabe big boy na si likha! :)
"I believe photography is all about fun, creativity and pleasure...it is not about who takes better pictures which is very subjective."- sidney
so true.
Thanks, Carlotta.
No pressue on the little boy. All he does now is play and eat and sleep. :) We're just glad that he's growing up to be a happy and healthy toddler. :)
Hi MangPoldo,
Thanks for dropping by.
ang pogi talaga ni likha. haaaaay.
*fan mode on*
atticus,
Ulan and I are discussing when I bring Likha to your office. One of these days. :)
